First Ride of 2015

We are weather watchers in our house so when we saw on Wednesday that the temp was going to be 70 degrees on Saturday, a light bulb went on. "Let's ride somewhere "
I have been wanting to ride to Noble for a while, and eat chicken fried steak at Kendall's. I keep seeing pictures on Facebook, and it looks so good. It is as big as your head! So it is decided we will take a road trip on Saturday.
Guess where we have to go before we meet the group?
You guessed it....

The car wash!
I must admit she was dirty, it doesn't take very long and we are ready to go.
We meet up with the group and find out Carla is not feeling well, so Larry is riding solo. We thought Larry would be leading, but since his "governor, aka Carla" is not going he was afraid he would drive too fast. So we take the lead.

We decide to go through Lexington to get to Noble. There is an interesting major bridge that connects Purcell and Lexington. It has been in the news recently because it was found to have more than 100 cracks and needed major repair.
Hopefully it will be safe to drive over today.

We make it safely across the bridge, I guess our bikes weren't too heavy.

I google the address since we haven't been there before. It says in 9.3 miles make a U turn on Chestnut street. Keith and I are very confused, we thought it was on Main street. As we get into town, we are looking for Chestnut. We see it, but can't figure out why the U turn. Then we see Kendall's right on the corner. The U turn is so you can park in front. We take the row of bikes past the restaurant, around the corner and back to the restaurant and find a parking spot.
We obviously picked a good time to arrive, because we get right in. We have sort of a private table.

I decide on the original chicken fried steak, and not the large. The large really is as big as your head.

Keith and Larry aren't big chicken fried steak fans, so Keith gets the catfish and Larry gets a burger.

The rest of us get the chicken fried steak.

The steak was real meat and the green beans were amazing. I tried real hard and I did it. I made a Happy Plate!
The waitress wanted to take my plate a couple of times, I kept grabbing it back from her, I wanted to make a Happy Plate. Then she brought out a cinnamon roll, I took one bite and that was it. I couldn't eat anymore.
After lunch we decided to ride to Moore to the Harley shop. Keith and I break away from the group and head to Edmond. Andrew's birthday is tomorrow so we want to see him. After a nice visit we start home.
We are riding down the turnpike when Keith says "something is going on with the front tire, it is not right" we pull over and check to see if the tire is going flat.
No, it looks ok. We pull back on to the turnpike get up to speed and he is not comfortable with the way it feels. We pull off again and he rolls the bike while I watch to see if there is a nail or something in the tire, first the front then the back. I see nothing. So we get back on and head towards the house. When we get to Chickasha he decides to stop again. As we are pulling in I pray and ask God to let Keith know if it is ok to drive or not. Keith puts it up on the ride off stand and then really looks at the front tire. He says "Oh My!! the front axle has lost almost half of the bearings"

We then knew we weren't driving it any more tonight. If the rest of the bearings had come out, the front tire could have locked up. We gave Larry a call. Thank God for good friends!!
He brought his trailer to pick us up.
Our Knight in Shining Silver

I just want to thank God for keeping us safe today and for our wonderful friends.
